Marty started woodturning in High School back in the 1970's
and went on for a degree in Industrial Arts Education. His career path changed to a health related technical field in Orthotics and
Prosthetics (Designing and fitting braces and artificial limbs) which kept him
away from woodturnings until recently when he joined the LI Woodturners
Association where through demonstrations and talking with other members, Marty
had revitalized his interest and techniques in woodturning. "I am fascinated
with the process of seeing a chunk of wood that might be tossed into the fire,
turned into a work of art in harmony with nature. I love the texture and design
of a turned object." Marty is continuously striving to improve his techniques
and designs in woodturning. |
